This is not glorifying the violence Nikita has enacted on others or a justification in any sort of way. It's a personal, badly thought out psychological profile based on little to no experience.

Nikita Lytkin was born on March 24, 1993, in Russia. Lytkin's mother was a single mother who worked at a shoe store. His father was depressed at the suicide of his second son and wife, and he neglected Nikita. He returned sporadically, but it disappointed Nikita. He valued building a true connection with his father.

As a child, Nikita found it difficult to say no, especially because his only friend at the time regarded him more like an object than a person, according to his mother. She remembered that she had to teach him how to stand up for himself. He also exhibited asocial behaviors. He did not like being around guests in his home, with a preference to lock himself up in his room, etc. Children who did not interact with others were frequently seen as exceptionally well-behaved, however he often participated in competitions, making the teachers not raise concern for his asocial tendencies. He played video games as a hobby and often received commendable letters.

Because of his high exam scores, Nikita was put in an advanced mathematics class in 2004. Nevertheless, his mother later said that the other kids did not like him. He appeared to have animosity for his more wealthy peers. This resentment, in my opinion, was rooted in a deeper sense. Their lives seemed complete, while his own family felt fragmented rather than just financial jealousy.

Artyom was Nikita's emotional support system when they became friends at a birthday party. His behavior intensified, likely resulting from his attachment to Artyom. He viewed his previous friendships as "fake childish friendships," while Artyom was his truest friend.

I assume that since he came from a low-income household, Lytkin was envious of those who had better homes. Because of his inadequate socialization during his adolescence, he was bullied by his peers. Rather than standing up for himself, he told them to die. This aligned with Artyom’s claim that Lytkin rarely stood up for himself and often backed down when confronted by bullies. Eventually, his peers dubbed him "Jimbo" (Violent teenager in The Simpsons).

After an incident with a bully, Nikita “fought back” by breaking into the bully’s home and stealing items and cash. His mother initially reported him but later withdrew the complaint to avoid him being imprisoned. Nikita (and Artyom) assaulted their victims from behind rather than in front of them. This seemed to indicate that they avoided direct confrontation, which was in line with Nikita’s behavior.

Following this event, Nikita stopped attending classes altogether. Nikita and Artyom were each other’s only friends. Lytkin mutilated the corpses of his victims, using weapons such as mallets, hammers, knives, and baseball bats. He and his friend Artyom often idolized notorious serial killers, including the Dnepropetrovsk maniacs. They were inspired to do these killings because they idolized killers and craved the notoriety those killers had gained. Artyom and Nikita often targeted children, homeless people, and women.

These two were active on social networks and online forums. They talked about their crimes and never concealed their identities or the gravity of the crimes. No one believed them and assumed they were lying. Because Artyom and Nikita were locals, officials figured the killer would be an outsider. Therefore, they were never suspected of being the murderers despite them fitting the profile and even recording the rally they went to.

In the meantime, fear and false information proliferated, leading many locals to assume the murderer was a thirty-year-old single male.

When they got caught and they interviewed Marina Lytkina, Nikita’s mother openly admitted that she felt she failed her son, feeling at fault for his hatred.

"I have always told him that there are many good people in the world and that there are more good people than bad people to learn and forgive. I tried to protect him from trouble while I could and thus broke his life. I have ceased to be an authority for him because I myself am just a weak woman who has not achieved anything in life, who has only worked from morning till night in order to somehow survive."

Facial composites were distributed at the Institute of Organic Chemistry, where Nikita’s grandmother worked. She and his uncle reviewed the images, while his mother grew suspicious because of Nikita’s strange behavior, like carrying a knife for “self-defense.”

His uncle then went to their house to investigate, where he found a camera Lytkin had left behind that contained a video linked to a murdered victim. The uncle immediately turned the evidence over to authorities, and the boys were detained an hour later. During interrogation, they confessed and revealed they were planning another murder.

The most intriguing part of the case, for me, involves a woman named Anastasia Markovskaya. She was attacked by Nikita and Artyom, who smashed her head, but she survived because something frightened them off. Some sources said she played dead. Since she was not robbed, the Irkutsk Police Department chose not to file a criminal complaint. When she later shared her experience on an online forum, the men actually messaged her to ask how she felt during the attack. Honestly, looking into this case, the Irkutsk Police Department’s response was pretty terrible.

Diagnosing someone you never met or interacted with is very impossible and irresponsible, but this is just for a silly webpage. In my perspective, I believe Nikita likely had ASPD, given his early life, idolization of notorious killers, and specifically the mutilation of his victims. He blatantly sought the same notoriety as the killers he admired. While he exhibited some key psychopathic tendencies (I suppose that their exaggerated self-image, which includes acting violently and aggressively, determining who will live or die, and claiming to be like "gods," would cause others to label them with psychopathy...) But in his letter he expressed remorse that I believe was genuine, a quality that's uncharacteristic in individuals who have psychopathic traits. (here's a translated version) him and Artyom had similar lives (lack of a father and being each others only support, specifically) and expressed their pain in similar ways. It's alleged he was raped often in prison in this letter a year before his death.

Nikita Lytkin was stripped of his dignity in prison. He was placed in confinement for being a danger to others. At one point he attacked a man, Prisoner B, striking him in the face with a metal pole 8 times. It's assumed it was a desperate attempt to receive a life sentence, but the man survived. Nikita turned to suicide, but it wasn't a genuine attempt to die, he was threatening the guards. If an inmate dies, the staff is held accountable and jobs are at risk.

Artyom & Nikita created two bands, Злые Гномы (English: Evil Dwarfs) & Расчленённая ПугачОва (English: Dismembered PugachOva).

Evil Dwarfs only had one song, but there was a few released under Dismembered PugachOva. They had controversial vulgar titles and lyrics, no one suspected Lytkin had any interest in music like grindcore because he wasn't aggressive, sadistic, and didn't show signs of being interested in heavy music.
